It is an honor to be able to introduce myself as your new Elementary Principal.  This is my 17th year in education yet it seems just like yesterday that I began as a first grade teacher in Ladson, SC.  Originally from Rochester, I returned home to New York with my husband Tim to be close to family.  As a resident of Monroe County, our children, Demiana (17) and Dominic (14), attend Churchville-Chili Senior High School.  One of my greatest accomplishments is being their Mom and modeling that we can achieve anything we set our mind to.

I am a graduate of Buffalo State College, Roberts Wesleyan, and the College at Brockport.  I hold degrees in Elementary Education, Literacy Education, and a Certificate of Advanced Study (CAS) in Educational Leadership and Administration.  Throughout my journey, I have served as classroom teacher, K-5 Literacy Coach, Reading Teacher and most recently, K-12 Assistant Principal.  I am grateful and excited now to say Principal of York Elementary School.

Being an educator is about the opportunity afforded us to promote and inspire individual excellence in our children. It is about personalization, collaboration, and excellence.

Personalization that is built on strong partnerships and fostering a culture in which everyone is valued, respected, and appreciated.

Collaboration in which all members work together and take ownership in maintaining a learning environment that is student-centered.

Excellence in which there is a fundamental belief that all students can learn and achieve at high levels.

Education is about engaging, empowering, and doing right by our children.  I am thankful to begin this partnership with all of you.  I look forward to introducing myself and getting to know all you as you get to know me.
