Dear Families,

It’s back to school time and we couldn’t be more excited.  We are ready to welcome our Golden Knights back into the building and journey into another great year of teaching and learning.  In preparation for a successful start, please note the following information:

Transportation:
Bus drop off/pick-up times have been mailed to families. Students requiring transportation must have a form completed and returned to the Transportation Office, these were due August 14th.  If you have not received information please contact the Transportation Department as soon as possible, 243-1730 x 2802.

Car Rider/Student Drop-off/Pick-up - If you are planning to bring/pick-up your child please let the Elementary Main Office know.  We will follow a similar process as we did for the 2020-21 school year.  Students will be assigned a number, one to be placed on their bookbag and the other in the driver passenger window of the pick-up vehicle. These will be distributed on the first day of school.  Students may be dropped off no earlier than 8:45 a.m. in the front loop. Student dismissal will be at 3:15 p.m. and we ask that families please wait in the car as students will exit out the front doors.

Cafeteria:
The USDA has extended free meals (breakfast and lunch) through the 2021-2022 school year.  Because of this, all students are able to receive free meals. However, free and reduced applications are available to be filled out.  Please fill out the application completely if your family qualifies and send it to York Central School.  Although your child will be free this year regardless of this application, going forward the application will help determine the status of your child’s lunch account.

Masking: In accordance with the regulations made by the Governor and NYSDOH all staff and students are required to be fully masked at all times indoors and while on the school bus.  Exceptions to this are when eating, drinking, singing, or playing a wind instrument; when masks are removed for these purposes, individuals must be socially distanced.  Mask breaks will be provided to students throughout the day.

Meet and Greet: Information was sent to families by the classroom teachers.  Please note that all visitors must be masked when entering the building. This event is for the student and parent only; we ask that siblings not attend.
